Steven, head installer and chief technician of Fitter Granite, smiles as he remembers first meeting John Proud and being taken through the various aspects of the undertaking:

| Undaunted, the Fitter Granite team templated the kitchen cabinets and proceeded to fabricate the granite slabs, notching out to within millimetres of the uneven listed beams, to provide a striking level surface that truly is the showpiece defining the conversion. |

John expressed that he was amazed that whilst requiring such power to effectively "cut through a chunk of mountain", such precision could be achieved, and summed up his feelings with the following:
